Derek Trucks Band / Already Free (2LP Red Coloured)- ONLY 350 IN THE UK
The Derek Trucks Band has released records (live and studio) that are full of fire, improvisation and inspiration. Under Trucks' skilful leadership,
the band has seamlessly fused rock, blues, jazz and eastern Indian modal music to create a unique sound.
Already Free (2009), the band's ninth studio album, is an exception to the rule. Trucks himself stated that the album has a different feel to their
other work because, in the past, he always felt under pressure to create a "guitar album". He maintains that the difference is that the band has
had more time to mature and that the album's sound is more balanced between the different contributions of its members, who developed its overall effect as they arranged the songs recorded for the album.
The album received very positive reviews and debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200, reaching the Blues (#1), Internet (#1), and Rock (#4) charts.
This marks the band's highest debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart to date. The album won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, marking the band's first Grammy Award.
The first single, "Down in the Flood", features guest musicians Doyle Bramhall II, Susan Tedeschi, and Eric Krasno (of Soulive).
Trucks co-wrote the song "Back Where I Started" with fellow Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes.
Already Free is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on translucent red coloured vinyl.
